NHFT work on Equality Featured in CQC State of Care Report

State of Care is the Care Quality Commission (CQC)’s annual assessment of the health and social care in England. The report looks at trends, shares examples of good and outstanding care, and highlights where care needs to improve.
We were delighted to be invited by the CQC to include our work on equality and inclusion to improve the working experience for our staff, and the impact that this has on the quality of the care we provide. Recently, NHFT won Effective Use of Diversity at the Healthcare People Management Awards, and was shortlisted for Best Diversity and Inclusion Practice at the Nursing Times Workforce Awards for aspects of this programme of work. There is great value in sharing learning, not only across our own organisation but with other organisations across the country.
Equality, diversity and inclusion are a priority at NHFT but we recognise that we are not perfect – there’s always more to do. We’re on a journey and are continuing to work hard on improving the experience for all at NHFT.
