Recognising the difference mental health nurses make everyday

Today (21 February) we’re celebrating the difference Mental Health Nurses make to service users and patients across Northamptonshire as it is National Mental Health Nurses’ Day!
This awareness day was originally created by a group of mental health nurses across the country to celebrate the work of these professionals and raise awareness of the care they provide.
Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) is the county’s provider of mental health services, both across Northamptonshire and in secured services (prisons) in the county and neighbouring areas. Therefore, the Trust has a number of mental health nurses who work with people of all ages.
From supporting children and young people through CAMHS services, right through to supporting older person’s mental health – these incredible nurses provide outstanding and compassionate care. Mental health nurses provide specialist care to patients and service users at home in the community, in prisons, and to inpatients in hospitals across the county.
Director of Mental Health Services at NHFT, Anne Rackham, said: “On behalf of everyone at NHFT, our patients, service users, families and carers, I would like to say thank you to all mental health nurses for their continued hard work and dedication to delivering outstanding and compassionate care.
“Mental health nurses work with patients and their families to understand individual needs and ensure they receive the right care for them.”
There are a number of exciting opportunities for mental health nurses to join NHFT, an outstanding Trust which provides county-wide services. To find out more visit www.nhft.nhs.uk/jobs
