NHFT welcomes new Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professionals and Quality

teamNHFT is delighted to welcome our new Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professionals and Quality, Linda Chibuzor who has joined us from Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust where she was Deputy Director of Nursing.
Linda has a wealth of NHS experience and working in the healthcare sector. Her healthcare background and skills will be of greatest advantage to teamNHFT and we are really delighted to be welcoming Linda to our Trust.
Linda is a registered nurse in mental health, Specialist Dementia Nurse and Best Interest Assessor (BIA). She spent most of her early career working within mental health and learning disabilities services specifically working as a frontline staff nurse, prison nurse, community nurse, forensic nurse and previously as a care home manager. Prior to moving into commissioning (CCGs) Linda worked in Essex as a ward manager across different age groups – older people organic and functional wards, working age adults’ acute wards, ECT clinic, specialist mother and baby unit.
Linda moved on to work in various commissioning roles including Clinical Quality and working in Continuing Healthcare (CHC) in Essex, Leicestershire and Yorkshire. Services that Linda has been involved in commissioning and managing include: mental health, CHC, Children Services, Maternity, Community Services, Learning Disabilities including Transforming Care Programme and Autism. Before moving to East Midlands, Linda worked as a Deputy Director of Nursing, Quality and Safeguarding at NHS Milton Keynes CCG. Linda joins us from her most recent role of Deputy Director of Nursing at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Notts Healthcare).
On her new appointment, Linda said: “I am really excited to joining NHFT as Director of Nursing, AHPs and Quality. NHFT is an outstanding organisation and I have seen this for myself in my first few weeks.
“I am dedicated to providing outstanding and compassionate care for our service users and patients, and I look forward to seeing first-hand the difference our colleagues make everyday.”
Linda’s role of Director of Nursing, AHPs and Quality reports to Julie Shepherd, Chief Nurse of NHFT and will support Julie in setting standards and providing professional advice to the Chief Executive, Board of Directors and directorates on all nursing matters.
Linda will also support Julie who leads on Quality Improvement across our group structure as one of the Trust’s strategic priorities as well as work with senior colleagues to continuously improve the quality and delivery of service to patients, every time. Together, both Julie and Linda will ensure the professional leadership of the nursing and AHP workforce, ensuring the care provided by Staff is delivered with compassion, embodies quality and fulfils the Trust purpose of delivering safe, effective care.
