What to expect in an assessment
Initial assessment appointments are usually between 45 minutes to an hour. You will meet with two members of our team and the team will ask you questions to find out more about your experiences. Y ou don’t have to answer any questions you are not comfortable with. Questions might cover:
- Reasons for referral
- Your general eating pattern in a day
- Your thoughts and beliefs around food
- Body image concerns
- Physical health
- History of eating difficulties
- Personal and family history
- Current living situation
- History of trauma and mental health problems
- Current mood
- What you would like from our service and what goals you feel ready for
After the assessment, we will then have a discussion with you about steps for support. These may include:
- Adding you to the wait list for support within our team
- Physical health monitoring with your GP surgery
- Signposting to another service for more suitable support.
