Type
CAMHS InpatientsCAMHS Inpatient Services in Northampton consist of two 10 bedded wards. The Burrows is located on The Berrywood Hospital site and The Sett is located in Duston, approximately 5 minutes away.
Both inpatient wards offer assessment, formulation and interventions for young people between the age of 13-18 years, who are experiencing mental health difficulties. Length of admission is usually 6-8 weeks, depending on the individual needs of the young person.
The inpatient wards work in partnership with young people’s, parents/carers and family and with the professionals involved in their care in the community. Our focus is to promote recovery and help young people to regain control of lives.
We ensure that when the time is right, there is a smooth transition back into the community and the appropriate support is offered.
Who is this service for? CAMHS Inpatients is for young people between the ages of 13-18 who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health, that cannot be managed in a community setting.

Referrals are only accepted from a healthcare professional.
Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT) are the Lead Provider for the East Midlands Collaborative. The collaborative consists of; Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.

Headspace website and app
This website teaches young people about meditation and mindfulness. This can be a helpful coping skill if they feel overwhelmed or unable to control strong thoughts and feelings. Users can sign up for free and take part in guided meditation and mindfulness sessions.
Young Minds - parents helpline
This is a confidential service (unless the advisors think the young person is at risk) advisors are available from 9:30am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday. The advisor will listen and give some practical guidance on how to help, if you need further help they’ll refer you to one of our specialists whether it's a psychotherapist, psychiatrist, psychologist or mental health nurse. They’ll arrange a phone consultation within seven days.
